Professional Experience
- Plan, develop, and implement innovative programs for instruction and learning for students and staff across the institute, including use of educational technologies in library instruction, supporting student research through Technology Enhanced Learning initiatives.
- Participate in aligning library services and programs to the Libraries Strategic Plan.
- Coordinate the Libraries Instruction sessions.
- Provide training and support on instructional technologies for library staff.
- Work with staff to design research assignments and integrate information literacy into their courses.
- Provide customized information literacy and research, outreach, reference services, and collection development for the department of Engineering.
- Offer specialized and general reference services in-person, on the phone, and email.
- Use appropriate information technology to acquire, organize and disseminate information.
- Create multimedia instructional tutorials.
- Continually improves information services in response to the changing needs
- Review and negotiate license agreements with publishers/vendors to reach favorable pricing and licensing terms.
- Create/maintain administrative login credentials and act as first point of contact between electronic resource vendors and the library, including investigating and coordinating communication with vendors, and University IT and library staff on alleged violations or breaches of licensed e-resources contracts.
- Establish and maintain excellent publisher/vendor relationships.
- Assist in coordinating acquisition, renewal and cancellation activities with publishers/vendors and staff.
- Contribute to development and documentation of procedures and effective workflows for management of electronic resources.
- Foster a collaborative, inter-departmental approach to problem solving and decision making; work closely with other staff and subject librarians to support e-collection development.
- Collect and analyze usage data from local and vendor/publisher sources and create reports to support purchase and renewal decisions.
- Participate on committees, task forces and special projects as appropriate.
